dos Santos
Julio Arruda dos Santos is a Capoeira master certified by one of the largest Capoeira schools in the world, with more than 30 years of experience in the art. Born in Brazil, Julio began training Capoeira at the age of 10 under the guidance of Mestre Coruja. By the age of 20, he was already traveling internationally to teach and perform, sharing Capoeira in Mexico, France, Belgium, Hungary, Austria, Latvia, Tunisia, and Israel. In 2012, he relocated to the United States and eventually established his Capoeira community in Miami. Today Julio leads his own studio with more than 80 students and a growing team of assistant instructors. The school is built around movement, culture, discipline, and personal transformation. Julio personally teaches the beginner classes because he believes every student deserves the same attention, the same respect, and the same opportunity to discover what they are capable of.

The People Behind Evolve
Every person on our team brings a unique background, a deep commitment to Capoeira, and a genuine care for every student who walks through our doors.
Capoeira master with 30+ years of experience. Born in Brazil, he began training at age 10 and by 20 was already teaching and performing across Europe, North Africa, and the Americas. He relocated to the USA in 2012 and built Evolve Miami from the ground up. He personally teaches the beginner classes, because he believes every new student deserves the same care and attention as the most advanced one.
Training under Mestre Cabeção since 2018, Vaughn dedicated years to mastering the art of Capoeira before being officially recognized as Instrutora in Brazil in 2025. Today she is a key part of the Evolve team, teaching classes, supporting students, and helping with the organization and logistics of the studio.
Training since 2007 and under Mestre Cabeção since 2022, Pietro was officially recognized as Instrutor in Brazil in 2025. He teaches classes at the studio, supports students in their progression, and contributes to the organization of the school. A professional photographer and videographer, he also captures the life and energy of Evolve through his lens.
With four years of Capoeira training, including time with Ache Capoeira Brasil in Canada and three years at Evolve Miami, Lucas brings energy, discipline, and a strong fitness background to the studio. He assists with the CapoFit program, helping students build strength and conditioning through Capoeira movement.
A world-class performer with mastery in Capoeira, acrobatics, and Afro Brazilian dance, Mina is a national sports acrobatics champion from Australia who has performed across Cuba, Brazil, and the USA. She has appeared on Telemundo, danced alongside Sergio Mendes and Anitta, and brings explosive energy and deep cultural knowledge to every class. She speaks Spanish, Portuguese, French, and English.
Catarina works with our youngest Capoeira students, ages 3 to 4. Her sessions are built around movement, play, and discovery, introducing children to the rhythm, joy, and culture of Capoeira in a warm, nurturing environment where every child feels seen and celebrated.
